Kennedy space center!

On Wednesday we were on Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space Center. But first we saw the new rocket Ares 1-X . We were lucky because we stopped at the beach and asked a man if the rocket launch was on the way, he answered that it was count down for the launch and it was only 30 seconds left. Here are two pictures from the launch of the rocket.
Then we went to the Kennedy space center. We saw many space things. I think it was very nice . Here are some pictures.

Busch Gardens!!

Today we were on the funniest of the whole holiday. Busch Gardens in Tampa!!! It´s a big amusement park! Many rollercoasters and even animals!! Some crocodiles, some birds and some lions and more. It has three big rollercoasters. One called Kumba. In that it´s very many loops, and it´s go in 60 miles per hour! It´s very fun. Heres ´s a picture!
And the second of the funniest rollercoster is Montu. It´s one of the biggest rollercoasters in USA. It´s very fun too! When you sitting in the coster you don´t have any floor. It´s a bit scary. Picture comes here.
And the third. The funniest. It´s SheiKra. It goes 200 feet up and then makes a 90-degree drop straight down and reach the speed of 70 mph. It has no floor so it´s a bit scary. See it with your own eyes on this movie.

Theo´s first writings about Florida, USA!!

Hi everybody!! I´m gonna write about the first two days in Florida, USA. The first day we went to an outlet for shopping. Not so fun I think. I bought a lot of clothes because of the cheap prices. But after the outlet we
(me and my grandparentes) went to a golf shop and I bought new golf clubs. The second day I played golf with my grandparents. It was very fun and I really enjoyed to play on an American golf course. Here is some pictures from the day and one movie from the golf!! Greetings from Theo in Florida!

A vistit to the Kalmar Castle

In the city park there is a statue of one of the most important Swedish kings, Gustav Wasa. He was king from 1523 until 1560.
He was a taken to prison in Denmark but escaped and landed in Kalmar in 1520.
From there he started to liberate Sweden from the Danes.

After Julias gymnastics we went to the castle, from 12th century. It's a very nice castle with cannons and a big bridge.

Here Marie is sitting on one of the cannons.

The main tower is the oldest part of the castle

Isn't it impressing?

A visit to the Barometern Media Center

We were invited to the media center at "Barometern", our local newspaper.
First we had a photo taken.
The we learned more about newspapers

Then we we tried to find articles in today's newspaper.

The media center is well equipped with computers and work stations.

Then we tried to make a new first page with photos, headlines and text.

We pasted what we had cut out on a piece of paper in the same size as page.

The last thing wid did was to read about a robbery, listen to witnesses, chose a picture and write the headlines for a first page. We had acess to professional tools for editors, lots of pictures from the paper's photographers and made a first page on the computer. Great fun!

Today we had "sailors beef" for lunch. That is a burger with potatoes boiled in gravy.

This is where we have wood work. We can make wood cars, ships boxes and a lot more.

This is a part of our school and the ship is there to play on.

This is a short clip from our music lesson this week.

Detroit Red Wings vs Saint Louis Blues

My name is David. Last Saturday I was in Stockholm, our capital, and watched an NHL ice hockey match between Detroit Red Wings and Saint Louis Blues. My favourite player is #40 Henrik Zetterberg, but he wasn't so good in this match because he was hurt in an earlier match.
The music was very loud there. The Saint Louis fans were very funny to watch. Paul Kanya scored once.

On a lovely morning in October grade 5 gathered on the beach in the forrest nearby the school in order to practice how to find your way with the help of a compass and a map.

The controls looked like this one

Mr Johansson, our sports teacher, explained what to do.

Final instructions in the start box

The twenty controls were spread in the area around the school.
We had to find as many as possible in one hour.

One of the teams heding for the finish.

When arriving we were checked so that no one was lost or missing.

Our student teacher controlled our results.

After you could sit in the sun by the beach
Water and apples were waiting by the finish

One hour, not more. Extra minutes were minus one point!
